My first podcast with Eric Wolf as he enters his second season at the helm of the LIU Post men’s lacrosse program in 2019. Wolf became the ninth head coach in program history when he took over the reigns of the LIU Post men’s lacrosse team for the 2018 season.

In his first season leading LIU Post, Wolf helped mentor the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year, William Snelders. Snelders broke a 55-year old program record for single-season goals (61) and led the country in goals per game (4.07) during the regular season.

Wolf arrived at LIU Post with a wealth of experience, serving as an assistant coach at the Division I level from 2009-17. Most recently, Wolf held the position of offensive coordinator at Harvard University, where he assisted in the day-to-day operations and guided the Crimson to an Ivy League runner-up finish in 2016.

Prior to his appointment at Harvard, Wolf served as offensive coordinator at his alma mater, the University at Albany, for four seasons (2011-15). In that time, he guided the nation’s top scoring offense in each of his last three years and mentored the Great Danes to three-straight America East Conference titles.

In 2015, Wolf’s offensive unit ranked as one of the best in Division I history, setting new national single-season records with 325 goals, 203 assists and 528 points. The Great Danes were the first Division I team since 1991 to post four-consecutive 20-plus goal games and scored in double digits in 18 of their 19 contests, averaging a Division I-best 17.11 goals per game.

He also coached the school’s first-ever back-to-back Tewaaraton Award recipient and three-time AE Player of the Year in Lyle Thompson, who became the career Division I leader for points (400) and assists (225).

In addition to his time at Harvard and Albany, Wolf led the offense at Siena College from 2009-11, helping the Saints to the programs first two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and NCAA tournament berths. In that three year span, Siena earned a conference record of 26-2 and captured the regular season championship each of his three seasons on staff, while two of his student-athletes, Ryan Duggan and Bryan Neufeld, were named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Additionally, Wolf currently holds the position of assistant coach with the Israeli Men’s National Team. During the 2014 World Games in Denver, he helped Team Israel to a 6-2 record and a seventh-place finish, and most recently helped the national team to a 5-2 mark in 2018, also finishing seventh overall.

A Long Island native from Baldwin, Wolf played in 62 career games at Albany, helping the Great Danes to three America East Conference titles and NCAA Division I Tournament appearances from 2004-07.

Wolf graduated from Albany in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
